الملخص
امتدّ الخطاب الاستشراقي في منظومة المفاهيم الثّقافية امتدادًا معرفيًّا لمشروع الحداثة ومُنجزاتها، انبثق من سلطة الذّات الغربيّة وهيمنتها، وامتثل العقل الغربي؛ بوصفه النّموذج الأمثل لريادة الواقع البشري والمعيار الذي تقاس وتخضع له سائر الثّقافات والحضارات، وتبعًا لهذا التّصور الوهميّ برز الاستشراق كآليّة ثقافيّة تتشابك مع الأبعاد السياسيّة والتّاريخيّة والاقتصاديّة لتطويعها وتسخيرها؛فرضًا للسّيطرة وترسيخًا للاستعلاء الغربيّ.غير أنّ هذا التّيار الاستغلالي لم يبق بمنأى عن النّقد، إذ برزت اتجاهات مُناهضة سعت إلى خلخلة أركانه ومساءلة مضامينه، فكان الاستغراب شكلًا من أشكال المقاومة المركزيّة، باعتباره استجابة معرفيّة؛ موقفًا مُضادًا للإقصاء مقاومًا للإلغاء الوجودي للذّات غير الأوروبيّة - عربيّة أو إفريقيّة- وفتحًا لأفق التعايش ضمن عالم تختلف فيه العقيدة والهوية والثّقافة. وتأسيسًا على ذلك نطرح الإشكال التّالي: كيف أسهمت هذه الجدليّة في تأصيل رؤية متبادلة ما بين الحضارة العربيّة والآخر؟ وترويضًا لهاته الإشكاليّة فإنّا نصوّغ أهداف المقاربة في تقييم دور الاستشراق في تشكيل صورة الشرق في الثقافة الغربية، والاستقصاء عن إسهامات الفكر العربي في قراءة الآخر، فضلًا عن اكتشاف نقط التلاقي والتّنافي بينهما في الأهداف والسّمات.Orientalism, within the framework of cultural concepts, has emerged as an epistemological extension of the modernistproject and itsachievements. Rooted in the authority and centrality of the Western self, itpositioned Western rationality as the ultimate model for understandinghuman reality and as the standard by which all other cultures and civilizations are measured and judged. Based on this conception, Orientalismarose as a cultural mechanismintertwinedwithpolitical, historical, and economic dimensions, aiming to manipulate and harnessthem in the service of domination and the consolidation of Western supremacy. However, thisexploitativecurrentdid not remainbeyond critique. Counter-movementsemerged, seeking to destabilizeitsfoundations and question itsunderlyingassumptions. Occidentalism, in thiscontext, appeared as a form of intellectualresistance—a counter-stance against exclusion and a challenge to the existential erasure of the non-European self, whether Arab or African. It opened a space for coexistence in a world marked by differences in belief, identity, and culture. Accordingly, thisstudyraises the following central question: How has thisdialecticcontributed to shaping a mutual vision between Arab-Islamiccivilization and the Western "Other"? To addressthisproblematic, the studyaims to assess the role of Orientalism in constructing the image of the East within Western culture, explore the contributions of Arab thought to the understanding of the Other, and identify the points of convergence and divergence between the two in terms of objectives and characteristics.
