Authors : Mohammedi Meriem . Hamza Cherif Ali .

Abstract

Abstract: This study explores Algeria’s efforts to develop and enhance Sustainability indicators in line with the United Nations’ sustainable development (SDGs). It adopts a descriptive and analytical approach, examining national strategies, government reports, and institutional planning documents from 2015 to 2022.The selected indicators were evaluated based on their alignment with the SDG framework, the availability of national data, and their consistency with public policies. The findings highlight Algeria’s institutional commitment to Sustainability, but also point to several structural challenges such as inconsistent data collection, weak integration of indicators into policy implementation, and the absence of mechanisms to assess impact. The study concludes that a more coherent analytical framework and a transparent, methodical approach are needed to strengthen monitoring and accountability systems. It offers practical recommendations to support data-driven decision-making and ensure steady, long-term progress.
