Artificial Intelligence In Libraries: Transforming Services And Shaping The Future

Authors : Tetbirt Souaad .

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most recent advancements and applications of computers in libraries. It comprises educating computers to carry out activities that humans would deem intelligent. The ultimate objective of AI in libraries is to create technology or computers that are capable of thinking, acting, and even competing with human intelligence; this clearly has important implications for librarianship. Libraries are increasingly utilizing artificial intelligence. These include expert systems for referencing services, robotics that scan books and shelves, and virtual reality for deep learning. Despite the belief that it will drive librarians away from their users, artificial intelligence is likely to assist libraries achieve more rather than displace them. Their services will be of higher quality as a result. Artificial intelligence will significantly improve library operations and services while also making libraries more relevant in a fast-changing digital world.
