This study aims to shed light on the unethical practices prevalent in Algerian universities, which have been experienced by students, faculty, and other members of academic staff across various departments, faculties, and institutes of higher education. These practices, whether stemming from those influencing or those affected, hinder the achievement of quality outcomes in higher education and tarnish the university's reputation as an educational institution. Following the dominance of neoliberal ideologies and their intertwined concepts with diverse global economic systems, the university has shifted to being perceived as an "economic entity." Consequently, the value of the university has transformed from a "social and ethical perspective" to a "material and commodified perspective," foreshadowing the inevitable demise of higher education's objectives.
