Social Use And The Appropriation Approach: A Critical Review Of Convergence And Divergence Contexts

الملخص
تهدف هذه الورقة إلى تسليط الضوء على مفهوم الاستخدام الذي يعتبر مفهوما محركا في حقل الإعلام وتكنولوجيا الاتصال، لاقترانه بالشقين النظري والمنهجي من جهة، ولما له من وظيفة في فهم طبيعة العلاقة التي تجمع بين الفرد المستخدم والمعطى التقني في سياق بناء المعاني السوسيوثقافية من جهة أخرى، حيث سيتم أيضا من خلال هذا الطرح وضع مفهوم Use في موضع مقارنة مع التملك Appropriation لقرب المسافة بين المفهومين في سياق تكنولوجيا الاتصال سعيا منا لإبراز أهم المقاربات النظرية التي ساهمت في تبلورهما، ولإثراء النقاش العلمي الذي أثير حول المظاهر التقنية للآلة وقواعد استعمالها حسب إرادة المستخدمين Users في البناء التكنولوجي للمجتمعات Abstract This paper aims to shed light on the concept of usage, a driving notion in the field of media and communication technology, due to its connection with both theoretical and methodological dimensions. Additionally, usage plays a pivotal role in understanding the nature of the relationship between the individual user and the technical medium in the context of constructing socio-cultural meanings. Through this discussion, the concept of Use will also be compared with appropriation, given the proximity between the two notions within the realm of communication technology. This comparison seeks to enrich the scientific discourse surrounding the technical aspects of tools and the rules governing their use as determined by users.
