The Use Of Artificial Intelligence In Protecting Sensitive Personal Data Of A Healthy Nature In International Law - The Case Of European Legislation -

Authors : Gouasmia Siham .

Abstract

AI in healthcare is a double-edged sword, offering advancements in diagnosis, treatment, and research but raising privacy concerns regarding sensitive health data. European law addresses this by safeguarding citizen data. The (GDPR) empowers individuals with control over their health data, including access, rectification, and erasure rights. The new Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA) builds on GDPR by setting stricter rules for high-risk AI, especially in healthcare. These regulations aim for transparency in AI use, data minimization to limit collection from each infected person, and robust security for health data. Overall, European legislation strives to balance AI's potential with health data protection.
