Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) no longer a technology of the future, is now a pervasive reality transforming the way companies operate and interact with their customers. From individualizing services to robotizing operations, artificial intelligence has an immense capacity to improve efficiency and competitiveness. However, this rapid transition is accompanied by considerable challenges, particularly with regard to the protection of personal data. Indeed, AI is obliged to comply with the legislation on the protection of personal data, in particular the GDPR and the AI Act in Europe. It is necessary to implement principles such as data minimization, transparency and safeguarding of users' rights. This includes carrying out impact assessments and incorporating the principle of ‘privacy by design’. In order to meet these criteria, companies are required to develop ethical, fair and secure artificial intelligence, while putting in place strong governance structures to ensure the responsible exploitation of AI.
