This study investigates Algeria’s adoption of e-governance to modernize public financial management through platforms such as Douane.gov.dz, ALCES, Jibayatic, and MFDGI.gov.dz. These digital tools enhance transparency, efficiency, and public trust by automating tax and customs processes, reducing corruption, and improving economic competitiveness. Despite these advancements, challenges persist, including outdated legislation, digital literacy gaps, infrastructural limitations, and socio-economic disparities. Cybersecurity concerns and institutional resistance further impede progress. This research emphasizes Algeria’s progress in aligning with global standards while underscoring the need for sustained efforts to overcome systemic barriers. Drawing on international best practices from Estonia and Rwanda, the study proposes actionable strategies to address these barriers, including legal reforms, infrastructure investments, and targeted digital education programs. The study emphasizes the importance of strengthening institutional capacity and enhancing cybersecurity as key priorities.
