Abstract: The digitalization of the financial sector, particularly in the public sector, is a relevant lever for economic development. We are witnessing the complete transformation of financial services thanks to technological advances. Therefore, financial services are thus becoming more accessible, faster, and more transparent. According to Arner, Braberis, and Buckley (2016), this financial revolution is disrupting not only the supply of services but also their use within an increasingly connected world. This article focuses on the digitalization of financial services in Algeria to try to understand whether it is a passing fad or a true transformation. Through a theoretical approach and field research, the aim is to describe how citizens are taking advantage of these services, and what constitutes their limits or acceptance. The results of our study indicate that the use of digital services in Algeria still appears limited, partly due to the existence of technical, administrative and cultural problems.
