This study aimed to shed light on the current status of women's economic empowerment in Algeria in the context of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 concerning gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, through analyzing the strategies and directions of the Algerian government to support this segment of society. The results indicated a weakness in the level of economic empowerment of Algerian women despite the efforts made, emphasizing that achieving the Sustainable Development Goals requires new measures and mechanisms, as what has been adopted since the adoption of the Sustainable Development Plan in 2016 has failed to achieve even one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. This study examines the current status of women's economic empowerment in Algeria in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals, highlighting the need for new measures to achieve gender equality
