This study explores women's economic empowerment as a strategic mechanism to support sustainable development, with a specific focus on Algeria. The research highlights the theoretical foundations linking gender equity and economic growth and reviews previous studies that emphasize the impact of female participation in the labor market. Through analysis of Algeria’s national policies, legal frameworks, and case studies of women entrepreneurs, the study identifies key barriers such as limited access to finance, cultural constraints, and low labor force participation. The findings suggest that comprehensive, gender-sensitive strategies are essential to ensure that women’s economic empowerment becomes a real lever for inclusive and sustainable development in Algeria.
