Abstract : The Field training constitutes a cornerstone in the preparation of student-teacher within Higher Schools for Teachers, as it provides a structured context for translating theoretical knowledge into authentic classroom practices. It serves as a vital interface between academic university-based training and the professional demands of the teaching profession. Nevertheless, the current educational reality reveals several limitations that undermine the effectiveness of field training, most notably its limited duration, inadequate supervision and follow-up mechanisms, and disparities in the quality of host institutions. These shortcomings have, in turn, adversely affected the quality of graduates. Adopting a descriptive-comparative methodology, the study examines the theoretical foundations of field training, analyzes its current implementation in Higher Schools for Teachers in Algeria, and identifies the major challenges confronting it. The findings indicate that the effective development of field training necessitates the adoption of a comprehensive strategic vision, particularly with regard to extending its duration, strengthening supervision mechanisms, and integrating modern technological tools across all stages of the training process. The results further demonstrate that sustained investment in field training significantly contributes to improving the quality of graduates from Higher Schools for Teachers by ensuring the development of professional competencies capable of addressing the evolving challenges of the Algerian educational system. This conclusion resonates with the perspective of Malik Bennabi, who argued that all societal problems ultimately stem from a civilizational issue centered on the human being, and that the teacher represents the fundamental prerequisite for any intellectual or social renaissance.
