The tremendous advances in modern technology have exponentially heightened threats to private life. Individuals now face pervasive constraints in personal affairs due to the continual monitoring, storage, and processing of their data through digital media. Sophisticated surveillance systems, cyber-espionage, and hacking pose serious risks to privacy and personal freedoms—especially when these practices occur without consent or are employed for intrusive purposes. Given the disruptive evolution in ICT, this study elucidates the mechanisms for safeguarding the right to digital privacy, recognizing it as a fundamental human right enshrined in international human rights treaties.
