This paper revisits the foundations of thinking processes within the sociology of communication. As AI shifts the focus from causal explanation to predictive statistical thinking, the discipline faces a potential displacement of human thinking processes. The author concludes that maintaining rigorous scientific reasoning requires synthesizing the ways AI tools are governed by human critical judgment, ensuring that sociological inquiry transcends mere correlation to achieve ethically informed, explanatory depth.
