Authors : Mechat Kahina . Rezki Khadidja .

Abstract

This study investigates the techno-pedagogical practices in universities and higher schools in Algeria. Using a mixed methodology approach, the research relies on a questionnaire, answered by 34 participants including faculty members, administrators, and IT support staff across different universities and higher schools in Algeria. The data gathered is analysed thematically following Braun and Clarke's (2006, 2022). The aim is to examine how universities and higher schools conceptualizes and implements digital tools for teaching and learning. The study identifies key challenges such as uneven access to infrastructure, lack of targeted professional development, and limited institutional strategies for AI and educational technology adoption. It sheds light on the need for coordinated national policies, institution-specific capacity building, and context-sensitive digital pedagogy models that bridge systemic inequalities.
