Critics and researchers in the field of criticism believe that cultural criticism cannot be a substitute for literary criticism, contrary to what Abdullah Al-Ghadami has argued. It is a theory that lacks the mechanisms and tools of critical analysis and does not rise to the level of critical approaches that possess the mechanisms of reading, interpretation, and exegesis in the classical concept of literary criticism. This is particularly true in its study of media discourse, which has been marginalized in textual approaches that have excluded it from the realm of literary creativity. This is until the advent of cultural criticism, which studies elevated, marginalized, and marginal discourse. In this research, we explore the most important cultural concepts upon which cultural criticism relies in its approach to media discourse, revealing its aesthetics and negatives through the cultural patterns it contains at the heart of its issues. Keywords: Cultural criticism, media discourse, cultural hegemony, Orientalism, media semiotics
