This study explores the influence of inflation on access to healthcare in Algeria over the period 1990-2023. The econometric approach adopted is based on the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model, which allows for the identification of both short-term and long-term effects. The empirical results highlight the existence of a long-term relationship between inflation and access to health services. The long-term estimation results from the ARDL model confirm the existence of a cointegrating relationship between inflation and healthcare access. The inflation coefficient is negative, indicating a restrictive effect of rising prices on access to health services. Conversely, GDP per capita and social protection exert positive and statistically significant effects, reflecting their structural contribution to improving health accessibility.
