This research investigates the paradigmatic shifts elicited by Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the editorial operations of global news agencies, adopting Reuters as a seminal case study. The study aims to decipher the empirical implications of integrating algorithmic systems into core journalistic workflows and professional delineations. Employing a robust mixed-methods methodology, the research synthesizes a qualitative thematic analysis of institutional frameworks with a quantitative content analysis of a purposive sample comprising 300 news reports over a two-month longitudinal period. Utilizing SPSS for statistical processing, the study measures critical performance indicators—primarily publication latency and content granularity—while systematically coding for emergent ethical and professional typologies. The findings elucidate a transformative efficiency gain; AI-driven integration exponentially accelerates the news cycle, with automated dispatches achieving publication in near real-time—a stark contrast to the temporal requirements of traditional human-centric reporting. Crucially, the analysis posits that this evolution signifies a functional reconfiguration rather than human displacement; journalists are transitioned from routine data-driven tasks toward high-value cognitive labor, including complex investigative synthesis and nuanced critical discourse. Furthermore, the study identifies a sophisticated institutional consciousness at Reuters regarding the axiological dilemmas of AI, specifically concerning algorithmic transparency and latent bias. Ultimately, AI emerges as a synergistic catalyst, facilitating a "Smart Newsroom" model that harmonizes computational velocity with indispensable human editorial judgment. This paradigm offers a definitive strategic blueprint for legacy media organizations navigating the complexities of the algorithmic era.
