Artificial Intelligence In Digital Newsrooms: Transformations Of Media Production And Credibility Challenges.

Authors : Bouaifi Sarra .

Abstract

This study investigates the structural transformations in media production resulting from the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into digital newsrooms, focusing on a central problematic: How does AI reshape the professional journalistic environment without undermining media credibility? The study addresses a research gap characterized by the scarcity of Arabic scholarship linking technological transformation with professional standards in the context of digital newsrooms. Employing a descriptive-analytical methodology based on a critical review of scientific literature (2018-2024) and analysis of applied cases from leading media institutions, the findings reveal that AI generates a dual transformation: enhancing the efficiency of news production on one hand, while raising ethical and professional challenges on the other, particularly concerning algorithmic transparency and journalistic accountability. The study concludes by emphasizing the necessity of developing an integrated governance model that balances the exploitation of technical capabilities with the protection of professional journalistic values.
