Organizational change is a pervasive phenomenon that requires adaptive responses from managers at all levels, especially middle managers who serve as key intermediaries between senior management and frontline employees. The aim of this paper is to study the motivation of middle managers facing organizational change. More specifically, it aims to identify the levers used by senior managers in Algerian public companies to motivate middle managers in the face of organizational change. Our field study focused on six public companies, each of which had undergone one type of organizational change. The data was obtained from the completed questionnaires and interviews conducted with managers. Results shows that the motivational practices used by senior managers do influence the motivation of middle managers in the context of change, but other influencing factors emerged, such as the nature of the change itself, the situation of the company, and the type of change.
