Digital literacy has lately become a necessity in today's world mainly shaped by immense educational and technological advancements. Thus, online learning embarks on spreading information at a wider scale allowing learners to take part in the process of knowledge construction even virtually. This study tries to uncover the extent to which fresh EFL university students are able to get integrated into the hybrid learning mode that is characterized by the use of Moodle and whether they are able to develop digital literacy skills and competencies which may enhance their understanding and reinforce their educational efficiency. Based on a random sampling method, 15 students were interviewed from the Department of English at the university Centre of Maghnia. The main findings revealed that learners need scaffold support to enhance their online cognitive engagement and even their technological effectiveness. Additionally modern integration should go in parallel with students’ capacities and readiness for a purely online ecosystem. The results also demonstrate a major interest in maintaining long term pedagogical implications.
