The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different phases of the menstrual cycle on physical performance in national-level athletes. Fifteen senior and junior athletes, aged 16 to 19 years, with an average height of 165.5 cm and an average weight of 59.33 kg, were included. To this end, we used physical tests. The results of physical performance during the menstrual cycle revealed that speed quality is negatively affected during the luteal phase compared to the follicular phase (F=0.04; P<0.05). A progressive regression was observed when comparing the arithmetic means of the three phases: the follicular, ovulatory, and luteal phases (2.14 ± 0.33; 2.13 ± 0.14), which also indicates a decrease in speed quality.
