Financial Factors Behind Export Diversification In Algeria

Abstract

The objective of this study is to explore the financial factors that explain export diversification in Algeria, for the period (1995-2022), by applying an econometric model based on the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method. The results show that domestic credit provided to the private sector (CSP) and financial freedom (LIBF) positively affect export diversification, while the variables money supply % GDP (MAS) and GDP per capita (PIBH) have no effect on the concentration index. Our results support the important role of the banking sector for export diversification.
