Role Of Institutional Determinants In Export Diversification In Algeria

Abstract

Export diversification is a key factor in stimulating economic growth and reducing the vulnerability of the Algerian economy to hydrocarbon price volatility. This research paper adopts an empirical approach aimed at analysing the institutional factors underlying export diversification in Algeria. For this purpose, an estimation of the OLS model was used. The latter provided robust arguments on the positive impact of human capital, financial freedom, the quality of government and the fight against corruption. The government is thus called upon to implement strategies to develop the educational and financial systems and to enact institutional reforms.
