ملخص: تروم هذه الورقة البحثية استجلاء معالم النقد الأسطوري بوصفه أحد الاتجاهات النقدية التي بزغت في مطلع القرن العشرين، مستندًا إلى مرجعيات فلسفية ومعرفية متنوعة، أبرزها: نظرية اللاشعور الجمعي والأنماط العليا عند "كارل يونغ" ضمن السيكولوجيا التحليلية، والأنثروبولوجيا الثقافية كما تجلت في أعمال "فريزر" و"تايلور"، إلى جانب الفلسفة الرمزية عند "إرنست كاسيرر". وقد خلص البحث إلى أن النقد الأسطوري استطاع أن يقدّم مفاتيح تأويلية عميقة للخطابات الأدبية من خلال استنطاق بنيتها الرمزية والميثولوجية، غير أن هذا الاتجاه لم يَسْلَم من هنّات معرفية ومنهجية تمثلت في انزياحه نحو تأملات لا يمكن التحقق منها علميًا، وإهماله لجمالية النص، والفروق الفردية في الإبداع، فضلًا عن ارتباطه أحيانًا بتحيزات إيديولوجية مشبوهة. وعليه فإن النقد الأسطوري يظل مدخلًا خصبًا لفهم الأدب في علاقته بالرمز والأسطورة، لكنه يحتاج إلى ترشيد منهجي واستحضار للتعددية التأويلية التي تحترم خصوصية النصوص وفرادتها. This research paper aims to explore the features of myth criticism as a literary approach that emerged in the early twentieth century, drawing upon a range of philosophical and epistemological foundations, the most prominent of them: Carl Jung’s theory of the collective unconscious and archetypes as articulated within analytical psychology, the insights of cultural anthropology as represented in the works of James Frazer and Edward Tylor, and the symbolic philosophy of Ernst Cassirer. The research concludes that myth criticism has succeeded in offering profound interpretive keys for literary discourse by interrogating its symbolic and mythological structures. However, this approach has not been free of theoretical and methodological shortcomings, including a tendency toward unverifiable speculative thought, a neglect of aesthetic dimensions and individual creativity in texts, and at times, an association with questionable ideological biases. Based on these limitations, myth criticism remains a fertile framework for understanding literature in its relationship with myth and symbol. Nonetheless, it requires methodological refinement and a more pluralistic interpretive outlook that respects textual particularities and creative singularity.
