This study addresses the issue of learned helplessness, a psychological state that affects students' mental health and academic achievement. The condition is defined as a feeling of hopelessness that develops in an individual as a result of repeated failed experiences, leading them to believe they are incapable of success regardless of their attempts. The study reviews the concept of learned helplessness, its explanatory theoretical models, various dimensions, and how it manifests in the educational environment. It also analyzes the underlying causes of this condition and its impact on student's mental health and academic achievement, clarifying its relationship with disorders such as depression and academic anxiety.
