Authors : Mahfoud Ikram . Asmouni Khelifa .

Abstract

The International Criminal Court is an institution that protects the interests of the victims in human trafficking. It was established by the Statute of Rome in 1998 to try war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, and sexual violence, which are all considered grave violations. In terms of human trade, the ICC endeavors to break the cycle of impunity by making victims' situations more secure by having the means of access to justice and redress. Moreover, the Court raises international awareness of trafficking in persons and encourages global cooperation in bringing forward such crimes for prosecution, thereby serving international justice and the protection of human legal protections of victims of this serious violation.
