Authors : Adane Sidali Abdesselam . Radjef Nacera .

Abstract

This study aims to explore to what extent Algerian travel agencies adopt artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in their tourism activities, based on a field analysis focused on the regions of Oran and Tlemcen. It tested four main hypotheses: managers' awareness of AI concepts, actual usage of AI tools, the relationship between awareness and adoption, and the integration of AI into future strategic planning. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to a sample of travel agency managers. The findings revealed a high level of awareness of AI technologies, contrasted by a still-limited practical application. A positive correlation was found between awareness and usage, along with a clear strategic tendency among most agencies toward future AI adoption. Based on these results, the study proposes a set of recommendations to support the digital transformation of tourism in Algeria.
