Abstract This study explores the quality standards governing the training of educational inspectors in Algeria and examines the extent to which current programs align with both international benchmarks and the needs of the national education system. Using a theoretical and critical-analytical approach, the research identifies major gaps between policy aspirations and practical implementation. Findings indicate that despite institutional efforts, training programs often fall short of global standards due to systemic challenges. The article emphasizes the need for competency-based, need-driven training, enhanced use of digital tools, and greater inspector involvement in program design. It concludes with targeted recommendations to enhance training quality and effectiveness, positioning inspector development as a cornerstone for educational reform in Algeria.
