Abstract This research paper aims to explore the aesthetics of place in The Iliad of Algeria by ׃Moufdi Zakaria, by tracing the presence of natural, historical, and symbolic locations throughout the text and examining their aesthetic and semantic dimensions. The study begins by defining the concept of "place" from both linguistic and theoretical perspectives, within Arab and Western thought alike. It then presents a brief overview of the poet and his epic, followed by an exploration of how the theme of place has evolved in classical and modern Arabic poetry. The significance of this study lies in its ability to highlight how Zakaria transformed places into living entities charged with symbolic meaning and emotional resonance, through rich imagery and a linguistic rhythm that bridges tradition and modernity. The research further illustrates how place contributes to shaping national consciousness and reinforcing Algerian identity—not merely as a narrative backdrop but as a core element in constructing a poetic discourse of resistance. Ultimately, the study asserts that in The Iliad of Algeria, place transcends its geographical dimension to become a vessel of memory, a witness to sacrifice, and a source of collective pride.
