الفلسطينيون في دول الخليج العربية: من الانكفاء إلى الاكتفاء (the Palestinians In The Gulf Arab States: From Seclusion To Self-sufficiency)

Palestinian migrants to the Gulf Arab states have not lived in camps over the decades. Instead, there were organized residential communities integrated into the traditionally conservative social fabric of the Gulf, within the framework of what can be termed "contractual migration." These migrants, who were skilled individuals with diverse backgrounds and mindsets, were familiar with the circumstances of these countries, which became attractive destinations for Arab and foreign labor due to the rapid economic growth brought about by the oil boom and its related industries. This study seeks to highlight the positive role of the Palestinian element in the Gulf states. Palestinians did not settle for marginal jobs but were actively involved in the core of the development process. They made significant contributions by providing a competent and efficient workforce in Gulf ministries and government institutions, including journalists, doctors, pharmacists, engineers, accountants, and businesspeople.
