This study addresses the development of the total gap, the overall food gap and self-sufficiency rates for various food sources through an analytical study of the food gap at both total and partial levels. Additionally, it tackles some key concepts related to the study subject, such as food security, self-sufficiency, and food gap. Food security and achieving self-sufficiency have become a determined requirement for Algeria to maintain economic and social stability. This is in light of internal changes such as climate change that has affected agricultural yield and farming production, as well as external changes like Corona pandemic, which increased food prices because of disrupted food supply chain.
