This article aims to show the pattern of pain and suffering in the Algerian novel, and for this purpose I have chosen the novel "May Laiali Isis Kobia, Three hundred and one nights in the hell of the birds", as model. we highlighted the title as a mirror reflecting pain and then referred to the dominance of masculinity and its inferior view of women, then the crisis of modernity depicted in the media institution that colluded against May and the religious system that restricted women's freedom. Finally, we conclude that this novel is a mosaic of painful patterns, and "May" is a vivid example of the image of Arab women suffering from the oppression imposed on them, and looking at her as a mere number of the other side.
