Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of spontaneous play with mother participation in reducing the severity of autism spectrum disorder symptoms in two cases (a 3-year-old boy and a girl) within a psycho- speech therapy care setting at a private clinic. The intervention program includes a series of 20 sessions of spontaneous play, where specialists use imitation-based strategies to improve play situations and spontaneous interaction with the child.Furthermore, counseling sessions are offered to educate the mother about the benefits of spontaneous play, comprehending its challenges, and how to approach and engage to enrich the experience for the autistic child. Results demonstrated significant differences in the severity of autism spectrum symptoms in both cases, as measured by the Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS- 2-ST), before and after the application of the spontaneous play program with mother participation
