Authors : Rezig Wassila .

Abstract

Abstract: Technological advancements, while convenient, have facilitated counterfeiting, posing threats to consumers and rights holders. Counterfeiting significantly impacts industrial property rights, harming the national economy and security. In Algeria, counterfeit goods that fail to meet standards cause financial losses and even fatal accidents. To combat this, countries, including Algeria, leverage customs administrations to address counterfeiting. The Algerian legislator has outlined the customs administration's role in tackling this issue, starting with a 1979 law, later amended, emphasizing its importance in protecting industrial property rights and mitigating the detrimental effects of counterfeit goods on the market and society.
