The current study aims to investigate teachers and students’ attitudes towards the role of blended learning (BL) in promoting students’ learning autonomy (LA) at the Department of English Language and Literature at Mohamed Lamine Debaghine Sétif 2 University. A quantitative research approach was used through implementing a focus group discussion, a questionnaire designed to 100 Master 1 students specializing in Language Sciences, and a questionnaire addressed to 15 teachers from the same department. The results revealed that both teachers and students have positive attitudes towards the role of blended learning, and they considered it as a useful learning method that promotes students’ learning autonomy. Following the obtained results, the researcher suggests that forthcoming investigations can explore administrators and families' perceptions of the immediate transition to online learning.
