Abstract — This article aims to examine the concept of reincarnation as a complex intellectual and spiritual phenomenon, at the intersection of metaphysics, anthropology, and religious philosophy. The research begins by analyzing the linguistic and philosophical significance of reincarnation, as the transfer of the soul from one body to another. The article reviews the types of reincarnation and their mechanisms as they appeared in ancient Eastern cultures, particularly in Hindu thought. It then examines Plato's view of the soul and its destiny in light of his major works, such as the Phaedo, the Phaedrus, and The Republic. Reincarnation emerges as an essential element in the structure of his philosophy of knowledge and moral purification. The research also analyzes Greek thought on death and the soul, tracing the Eastern roots that contributed to the crystallization of this concept in Greek thought, through an examination of the channels of philosophical and cultural communication between East and West.
