Scientific advancement in the natural and medical sciences reached a prosperous stage during the Golden Age. The Arabic language acquired abundant and precise terminology that later served as a foundation for modern English medical vocabulary. Therefore, this research is based on a cognitive and linguistic study of two Arab medical works written during this period: one by the physician Al-Razi (Rhazes) and the other by Al-Zahrawi (Az-Zahrawi). The purpose is to highlight the integrative relationship between Arab scientific progress in the Middle Ages and the development of contemporary English medical terminology. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the extent of scientific advancement in the Arab world during the Golden Age and to illustrate the influence of that science on both the Arabic and English languages.
