Abstract: this paper presents a theoretically grounded analytical study examining the intersection of emotional labor and psychosocial risk within AI-mediated workplaces, with particular attention to the Algerian organizational context. the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model,we argue that AI-driven systems introduce qualitatively distinct forms of affective burden including performance surveillance, emotional scripting by algorithms, and the erosion of interactional autonomy that intensify existing psychosocial risks. We further contend that these dynamics are mediated by contextual factors unique to the Algerian labor market, including organizational culture.
