The study of attitude markers (AM) has increased in academic discourse, proposing the role of subjective stance and authorial proposition in text formation (Aijmer, 2005; Hyland, 2005). The domain of blogsphere utilizes AM to reflect on author’s subjective standpoint. Despite the identification of AM for the purpose of constructing subjective propositions, there is a need to study the degrees of subjectivity employed in the text. This research has investigated fifty political blogs written by Pakistani academicians in English. Based on a corpus study, this research has explored degrees of subjectivity through functions of AM. The study concludes that AM vary in degrees of subjectivity depending on the functions utilized in discourse and hence are further classified into ‘highest’ through function of ‘evaluation’, ‘less higher’ through function of ‘newsworthiness’ and ‘low’ through function of ‘commitment’. This research can help academic writers present their subjective stance effectively using AM.
