Universities of Continuous Higher Education in Algeria increasingly attract adult learners enrolled in English language programs while maintaining full-time employment. These learners must negotiate overlapping professional, academic, and personal responsibilities. Using a mixed-methods approach, this study examines the motivations, challenges, and support needs of adult working students at the University of Continuous Higher Education in Relizane. Data were collected through online surveys and semi-structured interviews. The findings indicate that career advancement and self-development are the primary motivational drivers. However, students face significant constraints related to time management, fatigue, and limited institutional support. Despite these challenges, participants demonstrate strong commitment and high intrinsic motivation. The study argues for more flexible and inclusive policies to better support adult working students’ academic success.
