Human Security - A Study In The Intellectual Perceptions And Cognitive Developments Of The Concept -

Authors : Kherbouche Abdelhadí .

Abstract

The rapid transformations of the era of globalization have led to a shift in the substantive concepts of security, as well as an expansion of its dimensions and levels. This has been accompanied by a divergence of opinions among most thinkers regarding the study of the security problem as a structure capable of being restructured and achieving a comprehensive scientific approach. Therefore, the concept of human security stands out as one of the most prominent attempts to contain new security threats in the context of globalization. This means that the concept of human security emerged as a result of the transformation in the nature of threats, which now affect all levels of security: from individual security to national security, and even global security, as well as the shift of threats from national borders to within the state itself. Accordingly, this article will attempt to explore the intellectual frameworks of the concept of human security, examining the intellectual and institutional perspectives that have been put forward, and tracing the developmental trajectory and stages of this concept.
