Abstract This study examines how monetary policy variables impacted Algeria's economic growth during the period ( 1980 – 2024 ) , employing the nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL) method One of the most noteworthy conclusions drawn from cointegration test results is that monetary policy variables—real interest rate, nominal exchange rate, and money supply—have an impact on economic development over time. However, testing for asymmetric effects showed that monetary policy had no asymmetric effect on growth. These results offer strong support for the monetarist school of thought.
