?doctoral Thesis: Obsession With Achievement Or Fear Of Exclusion

Completing a doctoral thesis is a scientific project that requires human and material resources, which vary from one field of knowledge to another. However, it remains an intellectual achievement that requires a clear scientific vision and literary boldness in proposing new ideas that embrace the modern era and its challenges. Researchers may encounter obstacles that prevent them from completing their research, and as the years go by, the subject becomes an obsession that haunts them day and night, making the task difficult. The fear of failure is a major factor in procrastination and delay, as well as shirking responsibility for the doctoral thesis, postponing meetings with the supervisor, and failing to organize time for reading the knowledge material, contenting oneself with merely collecting it, without sorting or classifying it, leading to its accumulation on the desk. These circumstances and other psychological and social pressures contribute to a decline in the self-efficacy and academic competence of the student researcher.
