This study examines how subject-specific content is integrated into Business English classes in Algerian higher education, focusing on Master One marketing students and teachers at Ferhat Abbas University, Setif 1. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from seventy-seven Marketing students through an online questionnaire and from five BE teachers from the Commercial Sciences Department via semi-structured interviews. The results reveal that, although some integration of disciplinary content with language learning occurs, it is often limited in both scope and depth. Consequently, students report only moderate satisfaction with the course and frequently encounter difficulties in applying their English language skills to authentic marketing tasks. Instructors further highlighted challenges in selecting authentic and relevant materials, addressing varying proficiency levels, and maintaining student engagement. Based on these findings, the study recommends enhancing BE courses through carefully tailored content aligned with students’ professional needs, incorporating interactive and practical activities, utilizing authentic materials, and providing continuous feedback. Such strategies can strengthen the connection between language learning and disciplinary knowledge, better equipping students to apply their skills effectively in real-world business contexts.
