Water is the source of life and the foundation of development, impacting all aspects of life. With population growth and climate change, water resources are facing global deterioration, a concern for many countries, including Algeria. World Bank statistics indicate that water consumption has increased by 50% over the past 30 years . By 2035, freshwater availability is expected to fall to one-third of today's level, particularly in developing countries. Algeria suffers from a shortage and pollution of water resources due to population growth and development requirements. There are also institutional and legal shortcomings, Therefore, Algeria must adopt a new national strategy based on unconventional methods to develop its water resources and achieve water security by 2030.
