The Impact Of Commercial Openness On Life Expectancy: Empirical Evidence From Algeria

Abstract
This article studies the impact of Commercial openness on life expectancy at Birth (LEB) in Algeria during the period (1990-2022). The study utilized (ARDL) bound test. The results obtained are education expenditures and health expenditures per capita (HEX) and (EEX), and degree of commercial openness (DCO) does not significantly influence life expectancy at birth (LEB). The labor force (LF) is a negative and significant effect on life expectancy at birth (LEB). The error correction coefficient was also negative and statistically significant. The study recommends that the Algerian government open up trade to health sector goods and increase investment in the services sector to reduce occupational accidents and improve the quality of health life.
