Integrating Artificial Intelligence To Enhance University Students’ Engagement: The Case Of Third-year Efl Students At The University Of M’sila, Algeria

Abstract
The present study aims to explore the extent to which AI is utilized to enhance learner engagement, focusing on the perspectives of EFL teachers at the Department of English, University of M’sila. Employing a descriptive research design, this study involved a sample of (20) EFL teachers. Data was collected through questionnaires, observations and semi-structured interviews. The findings indicate that most teachers recognize AI significance in increasing learner engagement and motivation, mainly through interactive tasks. However, they also highlight concerns about over-reliance on it and the limited professional development opportunities for AI integration.
