In an era where global communication is paramount, psycholinguistics emerges as a cornerstone in revolutionizing language education. This interdisciplinary field, merging cognitive psychology and linguistics, deciphers the mental mechanisms behind language acquisition, production, and comprehension. Contemporary research now integrates neuroimaging, artificial intelligence (AI), and cross-cultural studies to refine teaching methodologies. This article explores cutting-edge psycholinguistic theories, their application in modern classrooms—both physical and virtual—and innovative strategies for addressing intrinsic and extrinsic challenges in mastering listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Emphasizing recent advancements post-2015, we highlight how educators can harness these insights to foster inclusive, effective, and engaging language learning environments.
