Takaful Insurance In Algeria: Opportunities And Challenges

Abstract
This study examines the concept of Takaful insurance, outlining its main features and types, reviewing its status in Algeria, and identifying the key institutions involved. It also discusses the major obstacles hindering its implementation under Islamic Sharia. The results show that Takaful insurance is grounded in Sharia principles, yet its presence in Algeria is minimal, with only one significant institution currently offering such services. Despite existing challenges, several factors could encourage the development of a Takaful insurance framework in the country.Moreover, increased collaboration between financial institutions and policymakers may help create a sustainable and inclusive system
